Screen Spline
Screen spline is a material used to secure screening in window and door frames. It is a strip of flexible material, such as foam or vinyl, that is inserted into a groove around the frame of the screen. The spline holds the screen securely in place and provides a tight seal around the screen, helping to keep out debris, insects, and other environmental elements. Screen spline is easy to install using a spline tool and can be replaced if needed. It is a cost-effective solution for improving the durability and longevity of a screen. Screen spline is available in different sizes and colors, making it suitable for a range of applications.
We stock both Vinyl and Foam Splines.
Round Spline Sizes: .120 - .220
Flat Spline Sizes: .310 - .315
Available in rolls or boxed. Lengths vary depending on size of spline. Vinyl screen spline and foam screen spline are both materials used to secure screens in window and door frames. However, they have some differences:
Material: Vinyl screen spline is made of vinyl plastic, while foam screen spline is made of foam materials such as PVC or EPDM.
Durability: Both materials are durable and resistant to weathering and UV light, but vinyl is more abrasion-resistant and may have a longer lifespan.
Sealing properties: Both materials provide a tight seal around the screen, but foam screen spline may be better suited for irregular or curved frames due to its flexibility.
Cost: Foam screen spline is generally less expensive than vinyl screen spline.
Installation: Both materials can be easily installed using a spline tool.
The choice between vinyl screen spline and foam screen spline will depend on factors such as the type of frame, the desired level of durability, and cost considerations.
